SOURCE Conference Code of Conduct
SOURCE Security Conference and Training is committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, physical appearance, disability, ethnicity, or religion. We do not permit behavior that creates an unsafe, inappropriate, or intimidating environment for our venue, partners, staff, or attendees. Conference attendees, exhibitors, vendors, and/or volunteers violating these rules may be issued a warning, or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers, at their discretion
By attending SOURCE Conference and Training, you are automatically accepting the terms of the SOURCE Conference Code of Conduct regardless of any additional considerations or conditions, including cases where you were not informed of the SOURCE Conference Code of Conduct or your participation was registered by a third party.
All determinations and interpretations of acceptable and/or unacceptable behavior are at the sole discretion of the event organizer, staff, and designated representatives. Decisions will be considered final.
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
Threats or threatening behavior of any kind, either those that are written, physical, or verbal or intimidating actions such as stalking, following, physical contact, blocking, or any other behavior that a reasonable person might consider inappropriate, hostile or offensive
Sexual harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention and inappropriate physical contact
Sexualized materials or nudity in public spaces
Sustained disruption of talks or other events
Boisterous, lewd or offensive behavior or content (profanity, obscene gestures, slurs, etc.)
Behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people (such as racism, antisemitism, homophobia, etc.)
Any actions that may create a possible legal liability for the conference organizers, venue, or other participants, including using conference or venue space to conduct or aid in unethical, illegal, or dangerous activity
Failing to comply with venue rules or regulations
Smoking – other than in designated areas (when available and specified by venue)
Assembling for the purpose of, or resulting in, disturbing the peace, or committing any unlawful act or engaging in offensive behavior
Unauthorized attacks on conference and/or venue technology
Failing to comply with SOURCE Conference organizers’ instructions
If you or another participant is being harassed or you’re concerned that a participant is exhibiting inappropriate, offensive, or threatening behavior, or is otherwise violating our Code of Conduct, please exercise your best judgment regarding the following guidelines:
If you feel comfortable speaking up, and you’re in an environment or setting that feels safe, you might consider speaking with the offending person. Often, people are unaware that they’ve crossed a line or that their actions or words are unacceptable, and informing them privately of this fact may help avoid embarrassment or further escalation when possible.
However, if you feel the situation is dangerous or may become dangerous in any way, or you do not feel comfortable or safe for any reason, you are encouraged to remove yourself immediately from the setting and to find help:
Staff can often be found at the registration desk. If you’re unsure how to find staff or organizers, you may ask volunteers who will likely be able to point you in the right direction.

Recordings and Photography policy:
Photographs, audio, or video (MEDIA CONTENT) may be captured and shared with the general public so long as the general guidelines of the SOURCE Conference Code of Conduct are followed. For greater clarity, the following guidelines apply specifically to the capturing and distribution of MEDIA CONTENT:
Photography/recording of any kind should never be done covertly or against people’s wishes
Recording or taking photos for commercial sale or distribution purposes is strictly forbidden without expressed consent of conference organizers. Please contact email@example.com with any questions
If someone does not want to be recorded, you must comply with their wishes, including a reasonable effort to not record or capture their participation at the event or on the premises. In cases where you are aware that a participant does not want to be recorded, you should delete or significantly alter any MEDIA CONTENT so that the participant can no longer be identified, even if the MEDIA Content is not meant for public distribution
Participants may record talks so long as all other policies are followed. However, session presenters may deny at their discretion any MEDIA CONTENT from being recorded at their sessions for any reason or no reason at all
The SOURCE Conference staff and volunteers will be capturing MEDIA CONTENT at the event meant for the public. As such, photographs, audio, and/or video may be captured of speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, and attendees. Given the complexity of capturing MEDIA CONTENT at our events, and the difficulty of communicating with volunteers or other participants concerning the status of individual attendee concerns, SOURCE Conference organizers cannot guarantee participants will not be recorded, even in cases where we have received requests to be opted out of content. However, our team is committed to protecting the privacy wishes of our participants and will attempt to reduce or eliminate the recordings and distribution of content that includes participants who would like to be opted out of such content. With any requests or questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
